CL Synergy's Scholarship Awarding Programme
CL Synergy's scholarship awarding programme, known as CL Synergy SMILES is unique and attempts to sustain children throughout their tenure of formal education.
A sum of money is gifted to the parents to facilitate the child's education until the completion of Advanced Level exams or until the completion of local university education. In addition, a fixed amount is deposited into the child's bank account for their future use and to encourage the habit of saving.
All our valued customers are a part of this programme as a percentage of our earnings are allocated towards the SMILES fund.
We thank all our customers for being with us through this journey and for being a partner in lighting up the lives of these young stars. The first programme for the year took place at the Ministry of Education under the patronage of the Minister of Education Hon. Professor GL Peiris.
CL Synergy SMILES
CL Synergy SMILES is yet another innovative corporate social responsibility project which aimed at providing quality education to underprivileged children in the country. Over the past 12 years, CL Synergy has fulfilled its social responsibility mainly focused on children through many CSR projects. CL Synergy SMILES is dedicated for children education. It would initially receive nominations from the company, from its stakeholders and even customers. Students who are eligible will be shortlisted and scholarships would be awarded. Thereafter CL Synergy would keep tabs on those students to ensure that their needs are met and that they stay in school. SMILES will even go the extra mile to ensure that they enter universities or complete their higher studies.
The progress of the students will be evaluated to ensure that they receive the maximum benefit. The scholarship will cover special talents and record the achievements of students. A dedicated website will be maintained so donors could celebrate when the students excel and do well. All beneficiaries of the fund will have bank account opened for them. As part of the initiate, SMILES will also host education seminars, and workshops where students from regional schools will be invited to. Over the years, the amount of money dispensed and the number of scholarships will be increased yearly. Students who are supported by CL Synergy SMILES are welcome to contribute to the fund when they are financially able and secure to do so.
A unique children's Education scholarship Initiative
1333 Bikeathon
A director of CL Synergy Limited is taking part in the “1333 bikeathon” a 13 day cycle ride ride around the country which is a fund raising campaign to increase awareness of the line 1333 that helps prevent suicides in Sri Lanka.

Another Project towards the Cooperate Social Responsibility carried-out by CL Synergy Limited.
In view of the recent drought faced people of many districts in the country, CL Synergy Limited, auctioned a project to supply drinking water to the severely drought effected people in Polonnaruwa and Medirigirya, on Sunday 10th August 2014.
CL Synergy Limited, made arrangements to supply a package of drinking water bottles to over 1500 families living in the areas of Dharshanapura, Wedikachchiya, 98 Atamba Oya, Yaya Hatha, Jayathugama, Pubudugama, Halmilla wawe, whilst in conversation with these ill-fated residents, a majority of whom are paddy farmers, they said that they have lost all their crops and with it their livelihood, and as a result at present they find it rather impossible even to meet with their day to day meals, we were also made to understand that there is a huge shortage of equipment to store the limited amount of water that is been distributed, our representatives headed by Mr. Indika Aruna Kumara made it aware to these people the intention of our project and mentioned to them that we would not stop by only supplying drinking water, rather pursue and look at other areas possible to be of assistance.
This project was pioneered by Mr. Roshan Silva Managing Director of CL Synergy Limited, and the board of directors with the contribution of all the staff members, the ground-work and the distribution was led by Mr.Indika Aruna Kumara AGM – Finance, Mr. Indika Samarawickrama- Business Development Manager, Mr. Dumida Krishantha – Asst. Manager Finance and Ms. Nuwanthi Upeksha – Assistant Manager.
